As the years rolled on, Kiko and Carol remained mostly in Bellingham (friends but are no longer married) to raise their daughter Natalie (17), while Steve remained in Santiago, hitched up with a lovely Chilean named Loreto, to raise their son Ray (15).
We are an oceanside ecologically minded campsite situated 25km west of Puerto Montt, Chile. Part of a 120 acre working farm where fresh milk, cheese, eggs and bread can be purchased daily, campers can opt to work three hours a day in lieu of the fee. Campground includes hot showers and an enclosed barn for rainy days. The cabaña and car sites are also available. We are a working operation offering a beautiful landscape and enabling volunteers to use their assets to help us better our community
Our Story
Kiko Anderson and his (then) wife Carol – together with their good friend
Steve Anderson (no relation) first traveled to Puerto Montt in southern Chile
in 1989 to join former Peace Core volunteer Rick Klein on one of his unforgettable
quests for the planet’s oldest alerce tree.
The group didn’t make any major discoveries, but Kiko, Steve and Carol had
such a great time they decided to look around for property. They ended up with ocean front land about 25
kms from Puerto Montt in a community called Panitao.
As the years rolled on, Kiko and Carol remained mostly in Bellingham (friends but are no longer married) to raise their daughter Natalie (17), while Steve remained in Santiago, hitched up with a lovely Chilean named Loreto, to raise their son Ray (15).
Now, with time running out, both Kiko and Steve are directing much of their
energy to developing Camping Anderson as a special kind of retreat promoting a
more sustainable, planet-friendly way of life, open and appreciative of help
that Woofers and Help Exchange folks can offer.

Buenos días: mi marido & me gustaría saber más acerca de su lugar de acampada. Somos una pareja de edad alrededor de 60. Tenemos nuestra propia granja pequeña y le gustaría aprender más acerca tuyo y tal vez hacer algún trabajo

ResponderEliminarI received the welcome hospitality from Steve,Loreta and Ray 5 December 2016. I arrived with my tent, but they kindly offered me shared accommodation in a small house near to their house - on their land. I spent the few days there, picking snails off leaves to give to the chickens, and weeding. There were 4 of us at the time. We had mint tea for 11's and one night we were invited to a delicious dinner at Steve and Loreta's home. Great company, comfortable accommodation. Thank you dear Steve,Loreta and Ray. Rosemary
